Tribunal Announces New Appointments

Ottawa, Ontario, May 8, 2026—The Canadian International Trade Tribunal announced several appointments today, effective in May, June and July 2026.
Effective May 11, 2026, Eric Wildhaber will assume the role of Vice-Chairperson for a term of five years. Mr. Wildhaber brings extensive experience as a temporary member of the Tribunal and as former legal counsel supporting the Tribunal.
Also effective May 11, 2026, Greg Gallo has been appointed as a full-time temporary member for a term of fifteen months. Mr. Gallo brings more than three decades of experience in the public service, including significant economic expertise.
Effective June 24, 2026, Randy Heggart’s mandate as a full-time temporary member will be extended for a further term of three years. The Tribunal is fortunate to continue to benefit from Mr. Heggart’s considerable experience and expertise.
Finally, effective July 6, 2026, Michèle Govier will join the Tribunal as a part-time temporary member for six months, following more than fifteen years of experience in international trade policy.

The Tribunal is an independent quasi-judicial body that reports to Parliament through the Minister of Finance. It hears cases on dumped and subsidized imports, safeguard complaints, complaints about federal government procurement and appeals of customs and excise tax rulings. When requested by the federal government, the Tribunal also provides advice on other economic, trade and tariff matters.
